Merry Christmas!

Hello to all! I hope and trust you all had a great Christmas. Ours was pretty great. We traveled to Eau Claire and Sturgis to visit the families.

Being Zach's first Christmas, we weren't too sure on how he'd do with the presents. He likes to get a hold of the phone book at home and rip out the pages, so we thought that maybe he'd be okay with opening presents. Oh, how untrue that was. He seemed to just look at the paper and proceed to beat on it as if it were his drum. Vinnie or I would tear a little bit and show him so that he would copy, because that has been his thing lately (copying), but he would look up at us as if we just did the stupidest thing in the world for ruining his drum. Fortunately he is a bright baby, and by the fourth Christmas party, he got the hang of ripping the paper just like the phone book.
It was so great to be able to see our families, and for them to be able to see Zach. He is growing to quickly!
He did have his 9 month update, and the doctor and nurses are still asking if I'm sure he isn't a 12 month old. I assure them that he's not. At his appointment he was 22.6 pounds and almost 3 feet tall. The doctor gave us permission to feed him table food, but told that Zach was a little too skinny for his height. He didn't seem to be concerned because Zach is growing so fast, and eating very regularly. He said that eventually is will even out, so until then, if Zach opens his mouth for food, we have to keep feeding him.
Have a pleasant day.
Love the Oles Family

Thanksgiving

So, I know that this is coming a little late, but it's been kind of crazy around here, so I'm sorry.

For those who didn't know, Vinnie and I hosted Thanksgiving at out apartment. Yup, 14 people, in our little, itty, bitty apartment.

I cooked, and the only things that I didn't make was the desserts, and the gravy. Let me tell you how it went...

AMAZING!!

I had a 24 pound turkey, and a 7 pound ham, buttermilk and garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls...

I will add a picture of the Turkey, I didn't put it in an oven bag, but used a gralic herb butter that was placed under the skin of the bird, and I also used it to bast the bird. The color was an amazing brown color, and the skin was crispy, and the meat super juicy. Drool much? :)

Okay, but it went great, and everyone seemed to get along great. So, for now, have a great day!

8 month Pics

Zach is 8 months old now, here is a collage of his 8 month pics. He's crawling now, and I think he is starting to get his 3rd tooth in. Other than that not too much has changed around here. Vinnie and at Lowe's, and I'm still photographing. Wish you a great day!

Love us.

A sleepless night:)

So, there are things that I absolutely adore about living in an apartment. My most favorite part about the apartment is the mouse that we seem to have gotten.
I didn't get to sleep at all last night. When I got home from work last night Vinnie tells me that he and Zach were coming out from the nursery, and saw this mouse run across the living room. GREAT!! He said it wasn't a big one, and he has a trap set. I didn't really give it another thought until we went to bed. Midnight rolls around, and neither one of us is able to sleep because of the what-if's. So, we played UNO until about 3 am. About half an hour later, we heard the trap snap. GREAT! Now, I'm thinking Vinnie should go take care of it because I didn't wan't to have to see it. Another half an hour later Vinnie finally got up and checked the trap... No mouse. CRAP!! I still haven't slept.
I don't know I guess it was around 5 am, I was starting to drift to sleep, and Vinnie quickly, I mean like the speed of lightning, jumps out of bed and shouts "GET OUT OF BED", panicked, I jump out of bed, and he continues to tell me that he felt something run across his arm. I giggle a little, and ask him if he's sure it wasn't my hair. With the insomnia I had been tossing and turning. I went into the bathroom, did my business, I had panicked, and my bladder hadn't recovered. I was washing my hands, and started to laugh a little more, now making fun of my hubby because he was imagining things.
All of a sudden Vinnie yells there he is, the mouse had been in our room, on our bed, and on us! Now, the panic is back. I walk into the bedroom, and happen to see this little (like the size of a baby hamster) mouse scurry across the floor, probably as paniced as I. I couldn't get out of the room fast enough, I ran back into the bathroom, and jumped into the tum, more on the wall of the tub.
Apparently the mouse had the same idea...
I'm standing on the tub, now shaking so bad I can't hardly stand it. When the mouse runs into the bathroom with me and hits the tub. At this point I'm freaking out thinking that the mouse might be able to crawl into my new safe haven. Thank goodness I was wrong, but he did happen to hide behind the trash can. I shout to Vinnie to get something to trap the mouse. Poor Vinnie, he was a bit frightened as well, and couldn't process what he should grab, so, he asks "what do you want me to grab?" I shrek a cup or bowl. In the meantime my brain still isn't working, and I don't shut the door to the bathroom to trap him... I take that back, the thought had crossed my mind, then I thought "Are you crazy, you don't want to trap yourself in the same room as this mouse." I would like to take this time again to remind you that the mouse was no bigger that a hampster.
About the time Vinnie got a cup, the mouse had shot out of the bathroom, and under the hamper. I told Vinnie, and I don't know where the mouse had gone, but apparently it wasn't where Vinnie had expected him to be. I hear a scream, and am forced to relinquish my safe haven to make sure Vinnie hasn't had a heart attack. I find that the mouse had run across his feet, and now we can't find it.
So, we sit and wait on the couch, and no mouse, so I assume that he has gone to his home for the day, and we will have to try and get him later. Part of this statement is true.
Vinnie no sooner left for work, and I was doing some work on the computer, and out pops this dang mouse. Needless to say, I'm not going to get any sleep today, and the bed in going to get into it's frame, and off the ground before bed time tonight.
I'm sorry to say, but this mouse has to go. I'm half tempted to let the stray cat into the apartment to do some mousing for me. Too bad Vinnie's allergic.

Hello to our family and friends. I decided that I would jump on the band wagon of blogging to update everyone, instead of sending out emails. As of lately... Zach is 7 months old, and just so much fun to have. He has started to kind of squirm across the ground versus crawling. He can sit up on his own, and from a laying position get himself to a sitting position. He can stand up with the help of surrounding items, IE the door, footstool, mommy, daddy, etc. He loves to walk. He gets so frustrated when we work on his crawling because he wants nothing to do with it. He just wants to walk. At his 7 month appointment he was an astounding 21 pounds, and 29 inches long. He is wearing 12 month clothes. For those who don't know when Zach was born, he was so big that he had no room to move in my belly, and developed a kink in his neck, and in one of his feet. They have straightened out, and can't even tell that there was a problem. He has two bottom teeth, and is starting to get another. I will say that he isn't always pleasant when teething, but it's understandable. As for Vinnie and I, we just had a two year anniversary, and are still going strong. We are still in South Bend. Vinnie is working for Lowe's still as a delivery driver, and he loves it. This means the world to me because he hated his last job so much. He was so nervous about leaving because he'd been there for 9 year, but it has proven to be a great move both mentally and financially. I have started a photography business out of our home, I have 4 shoots scheduled this weekend. I am also working for Life Touch portrait studio to get more experience. I'm going to pitch an ad... I do engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, family, and senior pics. Basically, if you need pictures done, give me a call. In most cases I can come to you. I'm going to add some pics of us, and of some pics I've taken recently. Please enjoy, and let me know what you think. Love ya
